A Frames

  • A Frames & Climax Golden Twins - AFCGT - LP+7" - 16€
  • "Drooling Hillbilly Metal, Sea Urchin Psychedelia, Yukon Freak Thrash, and Beatnik Swamp Drone are musical genres, like dozens of others, which are in the infancy of their developments. Yet someone has finally harnessed the inside track to claiming a few of these elusive styles as their own creations. AFCGT is a rather convenient vernacular for A Frames and Climax Golden Twins but if you’re hopeful that the usual sources are stocked with facts and figures about this outfit, think again. There’s not much information available on AFCGT. The cretinous calliope that is AFCGT descends from a decrepit longhouse on the shores of a dark lake where the self-inflicted wounds from a windy forest of flailing, whipping branches gave birth to the white heat oddities from this their self-titled new album on Sub Pop Records. Conjoined a little over two years ago, the group has already been dishing out vinyl; recording a 10-inch EP, a full-length LP, and appearing on a 7-inch compilation not to mention a few super-limited CDRs thrown in for kicks. With 3 electric guitars, a bass guitar, and a drum kit they manage to emulate the decaying soundtrack of an international airport with all the trimmings; accidental runway collisions, air traffic control extremism, unauthorized handling of cargo, and bitching passengers at checkpoint screenings. AFCGT will be available as both a vinyl LP (with bonus 7-inch single!) and as a digital album (without bonus 7-inch single!), though not as a compact disc." (Sub Pop Record)

a.P.A.t.T

  • a.P.A.t.T. / Peepholes - Split - LP - 12€
  • a.P.A.t.T. share this 12" circle of vinyl with Peepholes, courtesy of Upset The Rhythm's 'Split' series. They manage to defy time somehow and cram 8 songs onto their side, also known as 'Paul The Record'. With opener 'The Village Idiot', a.P.A.t.T. achieve a highpoint in their career so far - it's a perfectly scored absurdist piece for clarinet, piano, guitar and drums, bursting with energy and enough invention to make Patton and Zappa double take. It's a tour de force, with a.P.A.t.T. firing on all weird cylinders. The rest of the album lives up to its illustrious beginning, taking in schmaltz pastiche, Devo punk, a diatribe against Tamla Motown and a classy rock out in aid of the 'Maggot Fairy'. It's the end or the distant future of music and one day the whole world will appreciate the truly labrynthine appeal of a.P.A.t.T.'s approach to music. 'Airforce Trainer' is all swirling keyboard clusters, reverberating vocals and tribal drum batterings. Kat's catchy vocal lines are echoed by Nick on the pulsating 'Alpine Song', which has a wonderful wobbly descending synth melody giving way to a lonesome coda full of icy feelings of displacement.Perhaps the most triumphant moment of the album sees Peepholes wield a mighty seven-minute track called 'Carnivore' that, in it's breadth, welcomes bubbling synth noise and exploding cymbals to fry the song within an inch of its life. The other two stand out tracks 'Sleep In The Shower' and 'Pulling Cars' both tap into a similar punk energy, sounding sincere and anthemic, drawing electronics to the fore alongside Kat's perfect hollers. Acéphale

  • Austrasian Goat (The) / Acéphale - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "Third release in the constantly great Austrasian Goat split 7" series and this one is a belter. AG return with a very melancholic track, not quite what I'd call "true" funeral doom, yet maintains a strong sense of despondency and gloom. As ever, strong material from an always-interesting band. L' Acephale are coming out with some of the most interesting black metal around today, and this 7" is no different. A monotonous single slow beat is violently interjected by a savage, noisy, razor-sharp black metal assault; there's a noisecore feel to it too I reckon. Brutal stuff!" (Amertume)

Across Tundras

  • Across Tundras - Western Sky Ride - 2xLP - 15€
  • "Across Tundras both crush and soothe with expertly conjured sonic doses of ambient doom, vintage psychedelic rock and haunted folk. Released on CD by Saw Her Ghost Records in 2008, now available on as gatefold double vinyl, released by musicfearsatan in 2008." (Music Fear Satan)

Adorno

  • Adorno / Sugartown Cabaret - Split - LP - 8€
  • "Here's the latest split lp featuring four new songs from Portugal's Adorno and France's Sugartown Cabaret. Adorno play a great melodic style of emotionally drive hardcore that reminds me of a modern sounding version of 1000 Travels of Jawarhalal mixed with Rites of Spring. Frenchy's Sugartown Cabaret play a style of emotionally driven posthardcore that goes well with Adorno's style of music. Great release! Definitely worth picking up. Enjoy!" (Communication Is Not Words)

Afflictis Lentae

  • Austrasian Goat (The) / Afflictis Lentae - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "First in the Austrasian Goat split 7" series and it's a belter! TAG start things off with three tracks all based around the concept of WAR, split up with some conversation in french that I don't understand. The tracks are really fast and raw, pretty old school black metal and maybe not what some people would expect. Brings to mind a slightly more musically adept Ildjarn. Afflictis Lentae hail from France also and their side starts off with the sound of machine gunning, which seems to continue through the whole song....totally brutal black metal battery; again, all volume turned up as far in the red as possible, total hell for leather stuff." (Amertume)

Afternoon Gentlemen (The)

  • Afternoon Gentlemen (The) / Suffering Mind - Split - 7" - 4€
  • Proving that there is more to Poland than strong beer and cheap labour, Suffering Mind serve up another platter of devastating top-notch blast. This time round they dish out 4 shots of 79% proof grindcore (including an Assuck cover) that will leave you dazed, damaged and dribbling. On the other side, English morons The Afternoon Gentlemen try to keep up to speed with 6 of their own concoctions, albeit resembling more of a mutant mixture of cider, tonic wine and cheap sherry. This cocktail comes with a grindcore umbrella, but is served in an unwashed powerviolence-shaped glass, with more than a faint whiff of bin-juice. (listen) (I Feel Good)

  • Afternoon Gentlemen (The) / Chiens - Split - 7" - 4€
  • The English gentlemen and the French dogs go head-to-head on this record, belting out 10 tracks of high-speed power-violent grind in under 9 minutes. The Afternoon Gentlemen play foolish fastcore decorated with an assortment of vocal styles, with lyrics veering from silly to serious and back again, exploring visions of life lying in the gutter or queueing at the dole office. Chiens attack your ear-drums with rabid, snarling grindcore, packed with tempo-changes and some of the most insane drumming ever heard, with the emphasis on speed and agression. Artwork was provided by the marvellous Pogger Jord. (listen) (I Feel Good)

  • Afternoon Gentlemen (The) - Pissedography - LP - 8€
  • The Afternoon Gentlemen are a grindcore / powerviolence band from Leeds, UK. Seriously some of the most raging noise to come out of the UK in the past 10 years, you fucking need this. (listen) (TVG)

Agathocles

Agoraphobic Nosebleed

  • "los angeles CROM crosses long sword with packing blade vs AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED on this epic 7" .. can you smell it .. yan you taste it .. the raw sound of true metal in its most primal and feral form .. this is metal as it was 15 years ago when a trio from called CROM knocked the world off its axis, confusing and confounding the unwary .. (RSR)

Ahna

  • Ahna - Empire - LP - 8€
  • “This release is the hell on wax!! It’s so brutal and primitive!! the most pure and honnest anger!! Really influenced by Hellhammer, Autopsy & Dark Throne, they’re a mix of sludge and grind! they really have their own style! they called their music “Droneviolence” and it’s the best way to definite their sound!” (listen) (Choking Hazard)

AI

  • AI - The Sounds Of Hearts (Disco 1998-2003) - LP - 9€
  • Discography! Spawned from the same Japanese scene as Crude, Paintbox and Forward, AI bring fast, frantic hardcore with elements of the "burning spirits" and since they come from Fukuoka, rather than any of the large central cities, have a sound that sets them apart. (Pure Pain Sugar)

Alabaster

  • Alabaster - S/t - 10" - 8€
(listen) (Music Fear Satan)

Altar Of Plagues

  • Year Of No Light / Altar Of Plagues - split - LP - 10€

Amanda Woodward

  • Amanda Woodward - Meurt La Soif - 7" - 4€
  • "This is the latest Amanda Woodward release. A brand new 2 song 7" primarliy released for their tour to Russia in April/May. The A side is Amanda Woodward at their finest playing their brand of driving French hardcore. The B side is moodier piece that explores a slightly new realm for Amanda Woodward. A powerful song that absolutely kicks ass. This record is all the first recording with their new drummer. It also features awesome artwork by Keith Rosson." (Paranoid)

Amenra

  • Amenra - Mass III - 2xLP - 15€

Anes Et Bateaux

  • Anes Et Bateaux / Johnny Boy - Split - LP - 7€

Arabrot

  • Arabrot - REP REP - 2xLP - 15€
  • "Norwegian Noise-Rock, hailing from the same scene that spawned NOXAGT, MOHA!, and others. A brutal and noncompromising attack, shifting effortlessly from Noise-Rock to Sludge, Doom, Black Metal and back again. Avoiding any easy categorization, but always being a heavy aural assault, with a feedback-soaked noisy edge, perfectly set into scene by producer Billy Anderson (MELVINS, NEUROSIS, FANTOMAS, etc.)! Double-LP-set, pressed onto 180g vinyls, packed into a gatefold-cover, with poster included." (listen Arabrot) (Urquinaona)

  • Arabrot / Okkultokrati - Split - LP - 12€

  • Arabrot - Solar Anus - LP - 12€

Artemisia Absinthium

  • Artemisia Absinthium / Weasel Walter - Split - LP - 10€
  • AA plays insane and intense free grindcore jazz with saxo and screams. A mix of psychedelia, violence and madness! WW, from The Flying Luttenbachers, offers 4 tracks of progressive and hypnotic noise with some elements of contemporary music. All instruments by Weasel Walter. (Electric Junk)

Artymus Pyle

  • Artymus Pyle - Fucked From Birth - LP - 8€

  • Artymus Pyle - Civil Dead - LP - 8€

Asshole Parade

  • Asshole Parade - Say Goodbye - 7" - 4€
  • "Fifteen songs in twelve-and-a-half minutes! Kickass, no bullshit, hardcore thrash! "Say Goodbye" collects the two lost AP recording sessions done in the late 90's. Half of the songs feature Drew DeMaio (STRIKEFORCE DIABLO) on second guitar, and half feature Matt Sweeting (TRUE NORTH, STRIKEFORCE DIABLO). All songs have the AP staples: blasting drum beats, thrashing guitars, and scathing lyrics. AP pick up where their legendary split LP with PALATKA leaves off, delivering hardcore that blends the anger of CITIZEN'S ARREST with the speed of early Slam-A- Ham bands like NO COMMENT and CROSSED OUT. AP was a stalwart of the late 90's thrash movement (CHARLES BRONSON, SPAZZ, IN/ HUMANITY, etc.)." (No Idea)

  • Asshole Parade / Slight Slappers - Split - LP - 10€
  • "The mighty ASSHOLEPARADE blazes through, relentless... a pause, then back into the fray! AP are on point: tight and raging. Have they gotten faster... again? Are you hungry for some crucial Tokyo Power Violence? Prepare yourself for SLIGHT SLAPPERS wall of blown-out distortion and fully insane Japanese hardcore mayhem.. and an uplifting celebration running throughout their songs, a triumphant cheer... and an all night dance party. Anyone can scowl, but it takes a real punk to smile!" (No Idea Record)

Aun

  • Habsyll / Aun - Split - LP - 13€
  • AUN (Montreal, Canada) has a back catalog rich with harmonic drone, sepulchral ambience and of thick detuned guitar vistas. For this split, AUN ventures into new territory. "Druids" plays like 70's space rock on bad acid, where dissonant tones and hallucinogenic melodies slam head-first into slow, pounding beats. Texture and rhythm collide to create a dark unworldly psychedelia. "Fall Out" continues the space-y vibe, blending rhythm, bass, guitar and acidic noise shards, seemingly taking some cues from the late 60's New-York underground and mid 70's Germany. HABSYLL is something much more than a metal band or a doom band, it's almost like twentieth century classical played with downtuned guitars and massive drums. So much space, the notes and drum beats miles apart, the drums not so much beats and rhythms (although those do pop up occasionally) as brief explosions or percussive squalls, more for dynamics and texture, or if they are actually engaged in some sort of actual beat, it's mind bendingly abstract and extended and slow to the point of hovering around 2 or 3 bpm. Think Khanate, Monarch, Moss, Bunkur, Fleshpress? You're already thinking too fast, too structured, too riffy. This is some excessive extremist radical dooooooooom, the sort of chug and plod and buzz and bombinate that makes the rest of those bands sound like speed metal. Total pressing of 500 for the US and Europe, we have gold vinyl available which is limited to 250 copies! (Conspiracy)

Aussitôt Mort

  • Aussitôt Mort / Catalyst (The) - Split - 7" - 4€

Austrasian Goat (The)

  • Austrasian Goat (The) - Stains Of Resignation - 2xLP - 15€
  • "After 4 years old and already a dozen records (EPs, splits, compilations), this is the second album from THE GOAT Austrasians, musical project conducted in the shade by Julien Louvet. Result of a year of work, this new effort discography consists of a set of 9 tracks varied and nuanced, navigating between hate black metal, funeral doom and atmospheric folk ballads. The whole is enriched by numerous appearances including the presence of Jarboe on "Voice of Aenima. "" (Music Fear Satan)

• Austrasian Goat (The) / Afflictis Lentae - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "First in the Austrasian Goat split 7" series and it's a belter! (Amertume)

  • Austrasian Goat (The) / Chambre Froide - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "Second in the Austrasian Goat split 7" series. More funeral doom side from Austrasian Goat this time, totally desperate stuff. Chambre Froide is total raging crusty black metal: how it should be! Filth!" (Amertume)

  • Austriasan Goat (The) / Habsyll - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "Final 7" in the split record series. One man blackened funeral doom project from France vs. unbelievably heavy and slow amplifier overload from France! The Austrasian Goat's side reminds a lot of the last Corrupted record (you know, the one where they went all emo). There's a real driving feel to it - powered by a brilliantly melodic guitar line over a plodding bass riff. Everything's recorded totally in the red and there's a wonderful layer of white noise over everything. Maybe the best AG side yet saved for the last single! Habsyll sound like a less happy go lucky Khanate, or Monarch without the hipster irony. Totally morbid!" (Amertume)

  • Austrasian Goat / Neige Morte - 10" - 8€

Avskum

  • Avskum - Punkista - LP - 8€
  • "Charged and furious, classic Swedish Punk carved out of D-Beat and DISCHARGE, blasting with hoarse vocals and a wall of guitars. This is the third LP by Swedish legend?s AVSKUM, who have existed on and off in the Swedish hardcore punk scene since the early 1980s. This LP is marked with unique twists and turns that challenge and defy the formula while satisfying both fans of the band's old dirgy style ?Ingen Manniska Ar Illegal? and full on DISCHARGE style attack ?Children of War?"
