California Love

  • Gehenna / California Love - Split - 7" - 4€

Capitalist Casualties

  • Capitalist Casualties / Hellnation - Split - LP - 10€
  • "Eleven years in the making, a monument to all-out meltdown thrash. Nine political hardcore blasts from Capitalist Casualties (first recording in 9 years) on the Iraq war, environmental destruction and a fish. Twelve brand new, carpet bombing detonations from Kentucky bastards Hellnation: annihilating, catchy and relentlessly pissed off." (Six Weeks)

  • Capitalist Casualties / No Comply - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "This split is so retro, it would make Chris Dodge feel nostalgic. This could have easily been Six Weeks #14, especially when considering how old these recordings are, resurrected by the great To Live a Lie records and put on wax for the first time. On one side we have a live recording of the legendary Capitalist Casualties from 1994. I've never really been a fan of live recordings, purely because I think they're unnecessary, but the band sounds good and the recording sounds crisp. The vocals sound particularly fierce throughout. There's not a whole lot of crowd noise or breaks between songs, which does kinda take the "live" feel out of it, which I'm perfectly fine with. On the flip side is No Comply with a recording from the 90's intended for a split with Charles Bronson that never came to be. I'm a sucker for drum/bass powerviolence bands, so I was destined to love this band from the start. Great hardcore riffs and weird clean bass playing with a great, tight, fuzzy bass tone and excellent sounding drums to go along with it. The vocals are probably my favorite part of this recording though; spastic and high-pitched, reminiscent of bands like The Locust or their would be split companions Charles Bronson. The last track "Squatter" is one of the catchiest hardcore songs I've heard this year." (To Live A Lie)

  • Capsule - No Ghost - LP - 11€

Career Suicide

  • Career Suicide - Invisible Eyes - LP - 9€
  • "Like firecrackers dropped mischievously into a garbage can, Toronto's Career Suicide are back on the beat, thrashing it up something mad for these blasts of snot-faced early 80s hardcore. Just as soon as the needle connects you’ll find them up and in your face, wrapping two scrawny hands around your throat with barely concealed glee and only letting go for long enough to push you down the fucking stairs. Top notch, typically." (Feral Ward)

Catalyst (The)

  • Catalyst (The) - Marianas Trench - LP - 8€
  • "(ignore the little dancing graphic, this is on translucent BLUE vinyl, not clear) Richmond, Virginia’s THE CATALYST has been a label favorite ever since we relocated here. Hell, we released the demos to their split CD/LP with MASS MOVEMENT OF THE MOTH on cassette to show it... but these four young men have grown well beyond the potential they showed back when, excellently displayed on their new self-released one-sided LP titled "Marianas Trench". Four scorching tracks (including the downtuned anthem "This Bike Is A Gravity Bong") can be found on the A side of this translucent blue colored record, while the B side has a beautiful band-made silk-screen job in blue ink, all housed in a nice full color jacket with some killer artwork. The long and short of it is that this release is a great representation of what THE CATALYST has grown into: a major force to fuck with, and an incredibly underrated band we really wish more people would check out. Grunge, punk, sludge, hardcore and noise all meshed together for a wonderful amalgamation of surprisingly catchy sounds. Highly recommended!" (Perpetual Motion Machine)

  • Catalyst (The) - Swallow Your Teeth - LP - 9€
  • "Straight out from richmond, virginia, the catalyst is a blatantly grunge, stoner punkrock four-piece. elements and influences took from nirvana, the melvins and city of caterpillar, rearranged in a modern, more chaotic and noisy version to deliver a gargantuan raging beast caged in a tiny plastic slab coproduced with perpetual motion machine." (Sons Of Vesta)

  • Aussitôt Mort / Catalyst (The) - Split - 7" - 4€

  • Catalyst (The) - Voyager - LP - 11€
  • "These ten brand new songs–clocking in at just under 40 minutes–touch on an almost unbelievable range of influences. From the feedback-saturated heroics of NIRVANA and THE MELVINS to the blistering hardcore punk sounds of BORN AGAINST and CONVERGE with stops along the way to check in with TORCHE, YOUNG WIDOWS, DRIVE LIKE JEHU and more." (listen) (Forced Field)

  • Cave - Hunt Like Devil - LP - 12€
  • "This is the second pressing of cave's phenomenal debut, the "hunt like devil/jamz" lp. this version of the lp includes all the same mind-blowin tunes as the first pressing. the cover art has been beautifully reworked and is now a full-fledged jacket. the insert also varies from the original. it's modern psychedelia at its finest! fans of circle, pharoah overlord, oneida and more lo-fi weirdness will definitely want to get down with cave. if you dug "pure moods" on drag city or "psychic psummer" on important, you should pick this up and hear for yourself where it all began." (Permanent)

  • Cementario / Mentat - Split - LP - 8€
  • "Here Mentat  frome Valencia (Sp) deliver two amazing songs of post doom sludge where emotion don't match with hope but more
with some black power of the beast ! Think like Thou play Neurosis with a great screaming vocal ! Cementerio as well from Valencia (Sp) play free powerful and obscure songs of sludge crust with great metal stoner touch. Think Eyehategod playing with Discharge and Slayer in the desert (of Spain of course) !" (listen) (Boue)

Cephalic Carnage

  • Cephalic Carnage - Confroming To Abnormality - LP - 14€
  • "Conforming to Abnormality unveiled a style of extreme metal that was completely unique in its makeup: blending mind-melting guitar technicality with inhuman drumming, a wildly schizophrenic vocal attack, smatterings of jazz sensibilities and devastating sub-bass blasts." (listen Cephalic Carnage) (Relapse)

Chambre Froide

  • Austrasian Goat (The) / Chambre Froide - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "Second in the Austrasian Goat split 7" series. More funeral doom side from Austrasian Goat this time, totally desperate stuff. Chambre Froide is total raging crusty black metal: how it should be! Filth!" (Amertume)

  • Chiens - S/t - LP - 8€
  • Chiens is the new grind /powerviolence sensation from Nancy, one of the most depressive part of France. They are four weed addicts who play fast, loud and ultra tight. Just think about amazing blast beats, 2 distorted guitars and raw vocals from the grave. (Electric Junk)

  • Afternoon Gentlemen (The) / Chiens - Split - 7" - 4€
  • The English gentlemen and the French dogs go head-to-head on this record, belting out 10 tracks of high-speed power-violent grind in under 9 minutes. The Afternoon Gentlemen play foolish fastcore decorated with an assortment of vocal styles, with lyrics veering from silly to serious and back again, exploring visions of life lying in the gutter or queueing at the dole office. Chiens attack your ear-drums with rabid, snarling grindcore, packed with tempo-changes and some of the most insane drumming ever heard, with the emphasis on speed and agression. Artwork was provided by the marvellous Pogger Jord. (listen) (I Feel Good)

  • Chiens - Vultures are our Future - 10" - 10€
  •   (I Feel Good)

Chinese Stars (The)

  • Chinese Stars (The) - A Rare Sensation - LP - 12€
  • "From the ashes of ARAB ON RADAR and SIX FINGER SATELLITE arose the CHINESE STARS - with a sound like ARAB ON RADAR channelled, filtered and packed into bouncy, catchy songs with danceable rhythms! Kinda like the MOVING UNITS, but with more influences from bands like DEVO and GANG OF FOUR..." (Three One G)

  • Chocolat Billy - Jacques et ses Diverses Compagnes 07 59 - 2xLP - 15€
  •   (Les Potagers Natures)

  • Cinemechanica - The Martial Arts - LP - 9€
  • "CINEMECHANICA believes in dueling guitars, and by believe I mean talk about it, critique it, and collectively lose our shit over it. Cinemechanica believes in work ethic and in not accepting the first, obvious solution to a songwriting quandary. Cinemechanica is burned out on the same three tepid indie rock beats you're burned out on. Furthermore, four years running and Cinemechanica will still wtfpwn (sic) your house party. Above all, Cinemechanica understands the necessity of bringing the motherfuckin' hooks. We get saddled with the lazy 'mathrock' classification frequently enough to warrant its mention. Although we have the utmost appreciation for Don Cab, Drive Like Jehu and Faraquet, we are students of the game enough to realize that what makes each of those bands worthy of complete catalog memorization is that each, in its time, carved out its own signature style of hooks and had its own singular voice; a voice that captivated fans as much for its uniqueness as for the insight it gave into its authors. We hope our voice, in turn, reflects our belief that getting your face melted at a rock show is timeless." (Hello Sir)

  • Cinemechanica - Rivals - 10" - 8€
  • "Let’s kick off our reviews section with a petit apéritif. After extensively touring Europe with their debut The Martial Arts you might have heard of them. And a brilliant debut one might add. The follow-up is exactly what you’d expect from a band that seems to know its own sound and capabilities both live and on record: Now they seek to go a bit further, adding another drumset and changing into a more instrumental outfit on 3 lovely new tracks. On the opener Hero/Protagonist you’ll recognize their sound: A feel for the balance between atmosphere and harvesting math-points on skill and creativity. Adding lyrics on the second track Rivals, they seem to be stating the obvious: Are you disconnecting me? (…) It hurts. Nothing wrong with a bit of lyrics, as long as they don’t get in the way of the rich instrumentation. Closing the EP is the 6:38 long Kurosawa which takes them to their peak. Live and on Martial Arts I was especially fond of the over 10 minutes long combination of Take me to the hospial and Get out of here Hitler, and this is exactly what I find on the last track, swirving from burst to burst, pause to pause. Not bad, not bad at all." (Cinemechanica) (Hello Sir)

  • Coliseum - S/t - LP - 8€
  • "Not content with only one salient, uncompromising hardcore band, BLACK CROSS guitarist Ryan Patterson grabbed his guitar and a microphone and formed Louisville's newest powerhouse punk outfit, COLISEUM. Taking on vocal and guitar duties himself, Ryan recruited an assortment of friends, family & Louisville hardcore mainstays to complete the lineup. Taking a different, if not altogether dissimilar, route from BLACK CROSS' DC hardcore meets noise rock approach, COLISEUM draws its primary influence from early 80's British punk rock ala DISCHARGE, GBH, & MOTORHEAD, as well as hints of 90's punk and hardcore bands like HIS HERO IS GONE, TURBONEGRO, & AVSKUM. COLISEUM¹S downtuned guitars, oppressively heavy bass and blistering d-beat drumming creates the bleak landscape from which Ryan¹s desperate worldview is throatily belted. COLISEUM is unlike anything in Louisville¹s vast history of punk, hardcore and indie rock a fast, unyielding colossus of disaffected fury and steadfast punk rock devotion." (Destructure)

  • Coma - S/t - LP - 10€
  • "Heavy crustcore from Sweden. You may know them from previous splits with Born Dead Icons, Autoritar and Mass Genocide Process. Crushing fast Scandi-crust mixed with classic death metal riffs." (Insane Society)

  • Confronto / Abemus Kaos - Split - LP - 7€

  • Congo - s/t - LP - 8€

  • Year Of No Light+Fear Falls Burning+Nadja+... Souvenir's Young America+Conifer+Lesbian
  • YEAR OF NO LIGHT offers us two new tracks with studio collaborations with FEARS FALLS BURNING and NADJA While on an east coast tour in November of 2007, CONIFER (Important Records) and LESBIAN (Holy Mountain) drove to Richmond, Virginia arriving at 5a.m. and ended up crashing at the Sound Of Music recording studio for two nights. There to play a show with SOUVENIR'S YOUNG AMERICA (Crucial Blast) at the Nara Sushi, all three bands (11 members total in one live room) entered the studio on very little sleep and recorded roughly two hours of improvised music... very loosely structured and minds somewhat altered... These sessions birthed what will be known as "Space Mountain Forever." (Music Fear Satan)

  • Contast Attitude - Apocalyptic Raw Assault - LP - 12€

  • Contrepoison - …Until Next Morning - LP - 11€

Cop De Fona

  • Cop De Fona - Estafats I Traïts - 7" - 3.5€
  • "This is the second release from these guys, it follows the ripping self titled EP and it carries on in much the same way. The anger and intensity is still here and doesn't show any signs of stopping. There are a few instances on this record where the tempo drops a bit and it might even be a bit more, dare I say, melodic and catchy, but don't let that fool you, this record is still raw as shit. The only downside is that it's a bit shorter than the self titled, but with four tracks and almost seven minutes of music, that's not even a valid complaint. This shit rules" (listen Cop De Fona) (Sclérose)

Courge So Lo-Fi

  • Koonda Holaa / Nico Edouard / Courge So Lo-Fi / Krinator - LP - 8€

  • Craft - Dites Le Avec Une Pelle - LP - 4€

  • Craft - Inmookwecrust - LP - 4€

  • Craft / Lout Society Kurse - LP - 4€

Craft (swedish band)

  • Craft - Void - 2xLP - 22€

  • Craw - Bodies For Strontium - LP - 8€
  • "This brilliant album (Craw's fourth in a ten-year career) marks a return to a rather more straightforward style after "Map, Monitor, Surge"'s incredible heavy-jazz freakout. I don't know what they dump in the Cleveland, USA water supply, but judging by this, it must contain a hell of a lot of drugs and a hell of a lot of lead. They're all awesome musicians. Crunching dual guitars flit from bruising powerchords to picked lines in an instant, and the fluid bass lines bounce acrobatically. It's incredible how tight everything is, how much they act as a single organism, held together by the incredible Will Scharf, on loan as lynchpin drumming machine from the equally-stunning Keelhaul." (Radar Swarm)

Crippled Fox

  • Crippled Fox - Throw Up A ''V'' That Stands For Venice - LP - 8€

  • Agoraphobic Nosebleed / Crom - Split - 7" - 4€
  • "los angeles CROM crosses long sword with packing blade vs AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED on this epic 7" .. can you smell it .. yan you taste it .. the raw sound of true metal in its most primal and feral form .. this is metal as it was 15 years ago when a trio from called CROM knocked the world off its axis, confusing and confounding the unwary .. AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED this time with the addition of female vocalist kat from virginia doom band SALOME .. this nice splatter will grind and pulverize you into powder form and snort your remains, fellow hessian be warned .." (RSR)

  • Crow - Neurotic Organization - 7" - 4€
  • "Dark and bleak hardcore cornered in metallic rock, but thundering with determined intent. Fueled by the upbeat energy of Japanese hardcore, but drawing longer mid tempo compositions of shouted despair, pounded drum beats and screaming guitars influenced by UK bands such as ANTISECT and AMEBIX, the EP includes a rollicking cover of AMEBIX'S "No Sanctuary". Crow has been on and off the hardcore scene for almost two decades, with numerous releases in Japan. This was their first US release in 2001, recorded in Oakland at Polymorph Studios and has been out of print for over six years, with cover art and design by Carl Auge of His Hero Is Gone and Drain the Sky. The cover has been re-worked for this re-release." (Prank)

  • Crow - Flock Of Beast - 7" - 4€
  • "Clear vinyl re-press limited to 500! Tokyo legends Crow deliver two blasting tracks of doomy, metallic punk mayhem - "Flock Of Beast" and "Flock Of Beast 2". Thundering deeper into epic, mid-tempo territory on the A-side with Crow's trademark boisterous vocals over searing riffs, this EP echoes their recent "The Beating Of The Wings Of Destruction" 12" by exploding on the B-side into ferocious, fast paced hardcore. Crow's origins date back to the early Japanese punk scene of the 1980s, but they have attacked in the last decade with a renewed intensity, culminating this decade in three US tours and a second album "Bloody Tear" which was released in the U.S. by Prank in 2007." (Prank)

  • Crowpath - Red On Chrome - LP - 12€
  • "The 13-tracks, 30-minute mammoth was recorded by Fredrik Reinedahl (In Flames, Burst, Gadget, Dimension Zero) and wields an absolute air of clarity and nucklebusting crunch rarely heard in a time of tin can production values. Fusing the drunken, staggered grooves of latter-day Coalesce with Immolation's trance-inducing sense of rhythm and dynamics, Crowpath triumphs in carving out an album that extracts the most violent, technically-obsessed aspects from modern death metal to grindcore." (Willowtip)

Cult Of Youth

  • Cult Of Youth - Filthy Plumage In An Open Sea! - LP - 11€
  • "The third vinyl release from Brooklyn's dark folk act contains a brighter and more focused side of Cult Of Youth that once again challenges the established boundaries of neofolk and post-industrial music." (Avant!)

Curse Of The Birthmark

  • The latest in grinding attack-noise rock action from San Francisco's CURSE OF THE BIRTHMARK-WEASEL WALTER, ERIC PARK, and SIMON PHILLIPS. Five screaming tracks for fans of Arab On Radar and the shit on Load Records." (Deleted Art)

  • Cursed - The Last Session - 7" - 4€
  • "3rd pressing, 475 on WHITE vinyl! "This is the last Cursed recording, from the doomed final tour that we didn't know was the doomed final tour yet. Recorded live off the floor like we'd play it. 5 songs spanning all 3 LPs that we came to play faster and differently live than they were originally recorded." -- Chris Colohan."
